Counseling for Liberty University Students
*If you are a parent seeking counseling for your son or daughter in college, Lynchburg Counseling can help. Find out how here.
College is an exciting time. You learn the knowledge, skills, and abilities that you will use not only in your careers, but in your personal life as well. You meet new people and make friends that will be there with you for the rest of your life.
Some people even find their spouses in college. Liberty University is a very unique college because you are able to take in part in all of the joys that other colleges offer and you are able to grow spiritually as well. College can also be a time of massive adjustments and rapid change.
You’re in a new city, Lynchburg, with new roommates with new professors with new grading scales. That is a lot of “new” to handle. You may feel like everyone is experiencing the joys of college, and you’re off to the side frustrated that you’re not having fun like your peers.
You may also be stressed because it feels like everyone has been in college for decades and that you’re in a foreign country.
Classes are getting harder, your relationship with your boyfriend or girlfriend is on the rocks, and you didn’t get that internship you were desperately fighting to get. You may even have a fear that you will be judged if you talk to your prayer leader, spiritual life director, or resident assistant. And even if you get over your fear of judgment, those leaders may not have the response you need.
We want to say that you are not alone.
We are here to let you know that we can help. We are here in Lynchburg to help with anything you are going through.
